You might be wondering where all of this wild game is coming from. I do get out and hunt every now and then, but I definitely wouldn’t have a freezer full of meat without the help of my husband and our amazing hunting dog, Marina. Without these two this blog would not exist. My husband is an avid outdoorsman who has inspired me in so many ways.
I will never forget how he initially got me into cooking wild game. Years ago before we were married I stopped by his house to say hello after a hunt. He was sitting in his garage in the middle of Uptown Houston processing a deer. It was freezing outside (you know, like 50 degrees) and I felt bad so I offered to help. Since then I have been processing game, cooking game, shooting game, and now blogging about it!
Three years ago we moved to North Dakota and have been able to enjoy the benefits of hunting a variety of game on public land. Everyday I am grateful for the opportunity we have here to live off the land.
This past Christmas we introduced a new member to our family, Zissou. I have no doubt this Deutsch Drahthaar will make a phenomenal bird dog!
